It took seven hours for Game Of Thrones NFTs to sell out on Nifty.
You must be thinking, “Fair enough, dude. GOT was the best show (except the last couple of seasons, ofc), the art would be amazing, to say the least.”
✋ Before scrolling any further, please close your eyes for 10 seconds. Imagine the glorious story that the artists must have spun around the GOT NFTs and the breathtaking artistry that would’ve compelled everyone to get the NFT.

So, anyway… here’s what happened:
The Criminals 👤💰
Warner Bros.'s blockchain division launched Build Your Realm, a collection of Game of Thrones NFTs that will eventually double as a role-playing digital card game. Plus, creator Daz 3D is foreseeing the design.The Heist 📜
It was sold in Hero Boxes, each of which contained a set of cards: one "hero" card, three story cards and nine resource cards. There were 4,950 Hero Boxes, each of which sold for $150 (0.11 ether).(Fake) Promises AKA Lure 🤫
Nifty says resource cards will later be fused to create weapons and armour for the hero character.
The minting process also faced delays and “unfair” floor price fluctuations, which could’ve been excused. But paired with the criminal artwork, they left a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth.
Let’s take a moment to think…
Despite the underwhelming vision of the collection, it is already a success monetarily. Under 5,000 Hero Boxes sold out within seven hours, generating nearly $750,000!
This could mean that NFT collections are making a comeback, good or bad roadmaps aside.
It also highlights the lack of effort billion-dollar companies are putting into their NFT initiatives to capitalise on the trend.
Keeping an eye out for trends and roadmaps has become ever more critical. Last month, former President Donald Trump’s NFTs were selling for $99, spiked to ~$1,000, and then sunk to ~$242. Beware!
